$46 isn't TOO awful I guess, but a lot for a mandatory inspection. Up to $80 though? DAMN! That's just one more reason I'd never live in CA!

Gosh, 80 bucks every other year for a smog...
California is super expensive but I never reacted to how much smog is. Gas on the other hand, thats expensive. Not to talk about rent.

Ooooh yeah, gas over there is insane. My cousin was in CA a couple weeks ago on vacation, and he sent me a picture of a gas pump somewhere in northern CA along highway 1 that was charging over $6/gallon for 91... and I thought $4 was high! I just paid $2.73/gallon for 93!!!

Swapped out a dragging left caliper and other side as well, changed both rotors and pads all from PnP find. Changed out broken upper spring seat on right side strut with heavy duty spring seat (both sides) and both top bearing plates (FCPEuro). Reconditioned the metal plate for the bump stop with rust remover (worked well). Replaced bump stops with the FEBI parts from FCPEuro.

1999 S70-GLT 72,000 miles. Front end has never felt this tight since I bought the car 2 years ago.

The true cost of gasoline in the U.S. is ~$15.00 a gallon.
You add up price, subsidies, tax breaks, environmental impact and the cost of protecting shipping lanes to get the true cost.

A huge portion of our military budget go to protecting oil shipping lanes.
