Yeah, impact wrenches are wonderful things! I have a Craftsman 19.2V Li-ion one and I love it. I'm also planning on getting a Milwaukee eventually, but the Earthquake XT from Harbor Freight looks awfully nice for $229. 1,200 lb.-ft. of reverse torque and according to some Youtube videos, impressive technology for Harbor Freight.

This morning I used this awesome fix to repair the tabs on my old, broken air guide. About a year ago, the wife had gotten the '98 V70 stuck in a sand pit and pulled it off attempting to reverse. I paid $70 for a Uro version and threw the old one in the garage.

The new-to-me '00 V70 was missing it completely, so I followed this guide to fashion new tabs to reattach it.

Now to figure out how to prevent debris from hitting the radiator since the plastic part is missing the louvers.

Aluminum sheets are great to have laying around the garage. I've used them in "fabricating" custom mounts and whatnot many times on my V70! Most recently to repair the mounts for the upper trunk area panel. Fits like a glove now.
I've needed an air guide for a while, mine never had one. I'm waiting to find one at the junkyard because I refuse to buy anything URO... too many problems in the past!

Our 2-year-old loves to play with the headlight switch in the '98 V70. Who can blame him, with that satisfying click of the three-position, Swedish-designed switch?

Unfortunately, he left it in the middle position, leaving the parking lights on and draining the battery, so I left it overnight with the drip charger connected, and voila! We had a working vehicle this morning.

You can leave the battery connected when you charge ,B.

I also put a shot of lube into my hood latches once a month to keep them working smoothly.

Do you still have SAS on your V70? Search for SAS delete to see how to get rid of this before your next inspection hassle

I've wanted to delete the SAS, but it's been working so I haven't bothered hahaha. Eventually... it'll be a nice weight reduction/space enlargement to get rid of that stupid pump.

Just make sure the pump motor isnt accumulating water in it - I think there is a drain hole on the bottom that plugs? Thats the cause of many deaths. Deaths of the pump motor, not people.

Oh nice, it can collect water too! I'll try to reroute that to make an intercooler water cooler. It'll probably be good for a quick spray every couple weeks!

Dropped the AC compressor , put in new one , and pumped the AC back to vacuum in 3 hours.

The fore aft mounting screws (M8x 150) are a major pain to work with.

FIGUred out PG100 oil from Zexel is actually PAG46

Found loose radiator mount on passenger side

Old AC compressor pitch completely destroyed.
