VGLA code - can you obtain it yourself?

If I am reading this right it looks like I can swap my VGLA unit on top of dash from Shagg into the Kat and have a working remote?

Still wondering about this. The real deep understanding would be to know where vida is actually writing key information

Lock control module 2-76?
VGLA unit?
CDM?
ECU?
Some of the above ?
All of the above?

It looks like it just writes to the VGLA module, based on this thread successfully moving a remote and the 4/19 module

I found I did not the PIN to add my remotes to Shagg, the 1999 with Denso management. It did have to be done with VIDA connected to Volvo.

Yes, if you dont have ELM327 reader and App or chip programmer you need use then legit VIDA or go to Dealership.
The VIDA subscription apps or programs you buy does things in background for you so you maybe have no clue of PIN as you paid software included it from Volvo database automatically. As mentioned this thing can be done many ways.


Additionally if gonna program old remotes from eBay is to check compatibility with remote for sure is next way:

Check Remote PCB and see SAW1 component what it says top of component.

132 = 433MHz
128 = 315Mhz


The car frequency is check the top of Dashboard receiver antenna and check what it says for Frequency there clearly on label. At least EU ones does for me example 433MHz. I think 315MHz wont say anything there.


I am as bored i am leaking my one secret project.. i only need find one static code and i can reprogram P2 car remotes to reuse old remotes and program them as new. I know already rest of know how stuff of them.

Had a chance to run the code process while working on my wagon last night. It sound up taking quite a while, definitely 2 hours at least, though I believe longer. I checked after an hour and a half and it was still in the 60% range. Then I got carried away and forgot it was running toward the end of my other task, so I didn't check it until it had been almost 4 hours since I had started the process. But it was finished and I took a screenshot of my code for future use when I grab another fob or throw a battery in a pieced together spare I may have enough parts for...

Successfully programmed 2 remotes after obtaining the PIN through the app. It’s great to finally have remotes for this car after using the key in the door for over a year. I got some cheap knockoffs from eBay and they worked fine for those of you that are cheap.

Did it completely through the 850 OBDII app. May be worth a try for your cars - the developer based the process off a ‘99 VGLA module

I can’t risk it on Evita, the 99 S70. That car has a CANBUS problem that doesn’t go quiet, so I can’t add keys even in VIDA . If I somehow knock the keys off, a really reliable working car becomes a brick

Only known ways i know V70's keeps losing keys is low battery + cranking many time situations (i even had hands on one example the IMMO memory was totally corrupted not even PIN was anymore there) or if you exactly specify command it to do so and that even requires own individual PIN code before IMMO accepts the command (so its very high bar to ever happen by its own ever..).

App doesn't use CAN Bus if you don't tell it to.
It doesn't care any module status example in Scan it tests if any user selected module is there first. App uses in hardware and software level settings sure that connections are okay.
The hard part is get good interface which has full ELM327 V1.4b support unlike many chinese does not have (which why they work only on example Torque but not in the App which uses more advanced use way of them).
Sure if CAN Bus is dropping constantly messages it will drop and no connection but all modules even CAN Bus wont accept corrupted message or if CAN Bus module has broken joints like end resistors not taking contact on ETM (ECM if no ETM on the car) or BCM (ABS).


I haven't yet included IMMO aka key programming in App as i not felt yet so include them there publicly but after all i might do so as got recently request via email with good reasoning example that you need PIN code for that which you cant hack similarly as VGLA for remotes (if wrong code it triggers Security Timer inside IMMO to go up which you need wait to go off) and many other tools has limited way some of these capabilities too (so not just VIDA) to add keys or remove them.


P.S. IMMO supports adding old key back too. I know as i added mine 5 times back in before it failed and i noticed what i did lol.
