Volvo S40, V40, and V50 reliability - better stats

We've updated our reliability stats for the S40 and V50 to include owner experiences through the end of 2015, about eight months ahead of other sources. In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year--lower is better:

2007 S40: 81, moderate, very small sample size
2006 S40: 94, moderate, very small sample size
2005 S40: 78, moderate, small sample size

More participants are needed for all model years if we're to keep providing stats for the S40.

We've updated our reliability stats for the S40 and V50 to include owner experiences through June 30, 2016. Reliability information elsewhere is based on a survey conducted in April 2015--well over a year ago.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year (lower is better):

2007 S40 and V50: 77, moderate, very small sample size
2006 S40 and V50: 78, moderate, very small sample size
2005 S40 and V50: 65, moderate, small sample size

We'll have further updates in November and next February. The more owners participate, the more comprehensive and precise these will be.
