A brand new, Vice grip (tm) brand (no substitutes please) needle nose style is your friend on any obstructed bolt. I keep one in a baggy in the tool box for these contingencies. Before use, wire brush the head to remove surface rust. When you snap the vicegrip onto the head it should be taking most of your hand strength to close the vicegrip.

Thanks Abscate on the advice with the vice grips on the stripped torx bolt. I never thought about using a wire brush to remove the rust. For a little more clarity on the approach, you're saying to insert one side of the needle nose vice grip inside of the bolt and the other side of the vice grip on the outside of the bolt, squeeze and attempt to rotate it?

I got frustrated yesterday and walked off plus I had a couple of appointments I had to make. To be honest I didn't anticipate to finish Yesterday.

Grab the bolt on the outside, but you will need to get it on tightly

Abscate, thank you for the approach. I know this will most definitely help me. I'm going to get back to this repair Tomorrow, I've had so much lined up this week and every thing has been over frustrating to me because I got this repair on the back of my mind!

If the journal on the crank is scorn, where can I get an over-sized bearing to use, and the most important question is, how do I properly measure the journal of the crank after smoothing it down.

What do you guys think, even if the journal is scorn to a certain degree, do you think I can get by with just smacking another bearing in there?

Need some more advice, thanks!!!!

Sorry for not keeping everyone posted. I decided to replace the engine! Once again, thanks to all the member and those who contribute to this website.

If it wasn't for members like wheelsup and others, I wouldn't even considered replacing and removing this engine. When I first entered this forum, I didn't even know how to do a tuneup properly! I can't even believe it myself that I'm going to attempt this but you guys give me confidence!

Thanks to All,
Manmanohman

Best of luck. HUGE job but you'll definitely know that car inside and out after this.
