Another Option to cordless, I was in Home Depot , the Milwaukee Rep was there. He showed me the 1/2 in M18FUEL brushless impact wrench. Nice.

Don't get me wrong, I do not dislike Milwaukee or the other brands. I am also not compensated for any endorsements.
I had been using the Bosch cordless at a previous employment with the Ni-Cad batteries. I still own one that functions beautifully after 16 years.

Their new Lithium-Ion line is so adaptable, and balanced across the ergonomic feel that I had to save up to own a few of the tools.
The radio is also unbelievable. I can actually play drums with it as a monitor.

Got my Generator up and running. I picked up the 5500/6500 13hp model.

Broke it in for 3 hours with no load, then ran it for 2 with a light load. Today I ran the entire house off of it for 5 hours and burned through about 3 gallons of gas...maybe a touch less. It starts on the first pull.

We don't have anything in the house that draws any real amperage except the microwave and window AC units. While it was running most of the lights were on, 2-TV's, 1-refrigerator, 2-freezers, the boiler, the washer and the gas dryer. No problems and it maintained a constant voltage while different things were turned on and off. Right around 119-121v. It runs at 59-61hz, not perfect but it won't kill anything. I didn't want the washer and dryer on, she did that.

In the summer they're going to have to decide if they want to be stupid with everything or have AC. Our house is 100 years old so no central air, just three window units. Based on my calculations only two units will be able to run and still keep the refrigerator and lights on. The place is tight, so it holds temp for a long time.

I shut the gas valve off and ran it dry, then changed the oil. I don't foresee any issues with the engine and the generator head should be fine as long as it's only run at 80%.

I start mine the first weekend of the month for 10 min to make sure all is well.

When you do a once a month start, its good to put a load on it, like an electric drill, or the magnets can loose their bias.

Do you have the same unit? No long term issues? I'm pretty anal about preventative maintenence, but if anything catastrophic should happen I have a couple of spare engines I could swap in.
