Well, the s40 was ok I guess. I liked that it was more modern than the S70. But, the seats weren't really comfortable, S70 has much better seats. Don't think I would buy another S40.amblerman wrote: ↑21 May 2018, 07:33 Well shoot. That stinks. I'm glad you're ok. I'm sorry that happened. I remember reading your original write up of your work and being impressed that you did all that and got a car back to health.
I know it may be tough to talk about at this point, but did you like the S40? I saw in another thread that you also have an s70. What did you think of the s40 compared to the s70? I know it's smaller and all. I'm just curious what how you felt about the s40 in general.
Thanks

amblerman- I have both cars as well....my S70 which has some electrical glitches now at 260K miles is my slum rider...I take it to the lake (to work on my boat) carrying tools, etc. and it's still very reliable. It's a solid car. The S40 is nimble and fun (especially in a 6 speed manual) but is not the stout Volvo you would expect it to be, but how can it be for such a small car. Anyway, they are very different animals. I could drive my S70 to the west coast and back without hesitation. I would hesitate with my S40.... Just sayin'

Great job, your preparation will pay off assembling the motor. I always enjoyed watching an engine being put together, friend that worked on 6cyl. Porsche engines would have every buffet table in the house covered with butcher paper (might not know what that is?) and every piece was lined up with every fastener and part together, cleaned like yours. Hope you post more, your brave!
