Well I think you're wrong so I did the requisite 4.2 minutes of internet searching and ... I'm wrong. So there!

For engine mounts it looks like most parts suppliers are calling the front where the headlights are, etc. From Volvo I didn't look at VIDA or anything but the more detailed online sources are just calling them engine pads or engine mounts, no reference to left, right etc. It didn't used to be that way, I swear (e.g. from 2012). I'm getting old and rusty; well at least my 40th HS reunion is still *multiple* years away.

I changed that engine mount a few months ago, and nobody here wanted to hear anything but "front" for that mount.
Probably easier to just call it the "right", which is wrong of course, but doing it right instead of wrong and calling it front might make more people get it wrong instead of right and then calling it right instead of what's right, which should be front and center in most cases, making it difficult for people who deal with the people who can't get the right right and call it front.

See? It's simple. ;)

:P If we all park the cars facing the same direction when working on them, then we can use North South East and West instead .

Saga is fin. Story thus far: The slow drip was bearable, but I decided to replace the turbo oil return line gasket and O ring anyway. One night after work, I noticed a PUDDLE of oil under the car. Parked it in the driveway when I got home and no oil on the dipstick. When I had time, I did the jack stand thingy and looked at the oil return line. Dry! Replaced the gasket and seal anyway as I was there. Took longer to jack up the car than to do the job. Massive oil leak when I returned from the test drive. Just got it back from the shop today: Rear cam seals. One was out of place and up against the gear? Problem solved. However,
I understand that the thing that causes the seals to go is a bad PCV system. Tested that today with the glove and also dipstick test. No inflation, no smoke. Any other way to test the system? Or could it have been a bad seal all along not installed right?

For the cam seals, ONLY use Volvo OEM. Yeah, it's like $20. But it will last. I've heard a lot of people complain about Elring (especially) and even Victor Reinz cam seals leaking within a couple years.

It could have easily been installed wrong (they have to be put in without any slant, and not too far in). But most likely, it was not an OEM part.

Elring cam seals: junk.
V Reinz I never tried, but wouldn't .
Corteco: gold.
Volvo: Are by Corteco, gold

FYI you can't do the glove test with the seal(s) blown out or leaking. But yeah the seals also just get old by this point. Apologies if I'm missing the point of your question, I didn't do my homework on the earlier pages in the thread .

Well, I've done the glove and dipstick test several times over the last year just as a regular test when I change the oil, and they both passed multiple times. I thought maybe that with a blown seal all the pressure would be leaking past the seal and not pressurize the glove indicating a bad PCV system. After getting the car back today I tested again and there was a slight negative vacuum from the glove. Far as I'm concerned the system is sound.
Thanks to everyone for the input
