June,
Thanks for the question
My 17" original setup was
225 50 17 98W 25.9" (diameter)
The 18" wheels and tires I swapped to are
235 45 18 98W 26.3" (diameter)
The technical answer to your question is yes
The new tires are 0.4" bigger.
That is about 1.5%
Now my speedometer reads about 1.5% lower (I can't tell) <-- edit
For reference as the tires wear the change from new to used is about 2% for either of the the tires shown above but as the tires wear out the speedometer will read too high.
Note: I could have gotten 225 45 18 and not affected the speedometer by 1.5% but then I would have to settle on a lower load rating of 95 instead of 98. I thought about it and I decided to stay with the 98 load rating.
Thanks
Paul

Thank you, that's really interesting how you thought that out ahead of time. My S80 was available with 18" wheels as a option. My sister's 2005 had them.
I wondered if the computer would have to be reprogrammed by the dealership to switch from 17 to 18 inch. I am at the point of changing my wheels due to the finish has started delamination. My S80 was take off the lot so I didn't get to choose the wheels.
I have looked at a couple of newer sets that I liked but were 18 rather than 17. I never thought of figuring out the actual diameter of the tire rather than what I assumed would be a expensive visit to the dealer of which they likely would give hell, if not refuse, to alter the computer. Such as refusing to alter the computer settings to turn off the daytime running lights for the first 15 years even though the manual said they would at customer's request. Also to stop the OnCall message also took years and many complaints to Volvo North America to finely get a reprogramming without removing the equipment part way rather than all equipment as that was Volvo's fix which ticks me off to this day I can't use my carphone or OnCall anymore... thanks again, June
Oh yes those wheels look great on your car!!!

June,
Here is the site that I use to check the specifications for the Wheels
https://www.wheel-size.com/size/volvo/s ... 6-eudm-272
It does show that a 2004 S80 T6 came from the factory with 16" or 17" or 18"
The one thing that I notice is the center bore is a different size for the P2 S80 vs the P3 S80
This can be fixed with hub-centric rings but it would be easier to use P2 wheels
Thanks
Paul

Matt,
I really appreciate you saying that.
I am really happy with the look of the new wheels and the grip from the new tires.
Note: I bought the Wheels with Michelin tires from a seller on Craigslist for $400.
The Michelin tires were too big for the S80 but they are the correct size for my LR2 and that is where the tires are now.
So the actual cost to the S80 for the wheels is less than $400.
Take care
Paul

MVS readers,
I wanted to update the Team on the Nokian Z-line A/S tires.
For anyone not familiar with Nokian they are a tire maker located in Finland and they are famous for making amazing snow tires.
Because it doesn't snow where I live I opted for the High performance all season tires.
My review so far
- These tires are amazing
- quiet, comfortable, lots of grip, easy to control, they inspire confidence
I am very happy with my purchase
Stock picture of the tread pattern
Take care
