One other note on the wobble extensions (at least the Pittsburgh/HF one that I have)...the orientation of the ball bearing that retains the socket matters. When the socket wobbles to the side that has the ball bearing, the angle is more limited than the other 3 sides. Not by much, but every little bit helps.

Something like the attached pic might be ideal...might trying playing some more with a crowsfoot and my bench grinder if the wobble approach doesn't work. Or have a friend weld up a piece of bar stock with the head of a bolt welded to the side facing the front of the car (this would get taped to a socket + extension) and a 10mm socket welded to the side facing the manifold bolt.

Or a flare crows foot. Most of the non-flare wrench style have faces that are parallel to the flats of the square hole for the extension. Some crows foot ones are offset slightly...maybe just enough!

While there, remember that these non turbo intakes manifolds may have a large attaching bracket underneath (need a mirror to see it), so if after releasing the bolts the intake feels like it doesn't want to come out, look underneath for this bracket

That SK CrowFoot is a thing of beauty designed by someone who understands clearances.

If you flip it over, you get about a 30 degree swing on the flat position

Here's a great view of the challenge. Bolt is hidden behind the bump out on the lower right of the thermostat housing. You are limited to the right by the top sensor bolt, you can't come from under the bump out and the bottom of the intake manifold blocks you as well. Crows foot flare wrench has been ordered.

Glenn - I purchased a Snap-on version of the same instead because it appeared to have better overall dimensions for fitting into the space. It won’t show up until Monday but I’ll report back once I try it.

So, for this area (thermostat area), the setup for 2006 V70 NA 2.4 is different from 2.5T?

I'm new to P2's so I really don't know. I played around with with various 1/4 extensions and was able to get on the bolt head, but not confidentially enough to give it a crank. I was thinking that if that tang on the thermostat housing isn't a gasket mating surface and just from the casting, a little creative work with a die grinder might give more clearance. Step 2 instruction from factory when building one these engines must have been "put 10 mm IM bolt in lower right on head"
