Today I'm looking to buy some parts for a tune-up of the ignition system. I heard you guys repeatedly say to always buy OEM stuff. So I'm looking at Bougicord sparkplugcables, I know that's original one so I orderded those. But when I'm looking at the rotorcap and the distributor, I get two hits when I enter the Volvo partsnumber, or shall I say, two brands: Beru and Bosch. It doesn't really matter if I look at the prices. Anyone here that can shed some light on this?

In the EU Bosch was OE for these parts in petrols. Beru was OE for the diesels.

I would use Bosch, assuming it's the same OEM as the 20v cars.

Drove about 250 miles round trip today drives well aside from my mystery turning issue. There was a portion of driving in the rain and for the first time the windows didn't fog up, thanks to the new AC. Felt good!

Did a fuel filter change on the T5 today, 110k on this one

Broke the downstream fuel fitting and made a fuel line from hose, oetiker clamps, and epoxy to seal to the hard line.

Then I opened up the fuel filter to inspect, playing Dremel roulette

Very clean inside but the case was 2/3 rust compromised.

All supervised by the Russian Blue, newly reincarnated

Made a DIY tensioner tool at 0p cost, used it to release drive belt so I could remove power steering pump and reservoir. That was necessary to remove the lower thermostat housing as the T40s had seized within it. One stud came out when cooked, the other had to be drilled. What a ballache, but after many days I managed to replace the thermostat...

DIY tensioner tool involved a spare wheel nut, a rotary tool and a lot of patience. Cut the threaded portion off, and sanded two corners flat until they were 19mm. Job jobbed.

I'll probably get suitably bored enough soon that I will smarten it up, flat it properly and spray it...blah blah.
