I had a colleague in medical school who called them StrudelBakers

We’ve got a ‘61 Hawk as well ;p

Unfortunately it’s quite weathered. Have long dreamed of getting it back road worthy but alas that takes major $$$$$$$ :cry: maybe one day!

They were like our Volvos, some N/A, H/P trims came with superchargers. think of them as boxy Avantis!
Current Volvos:
1998 V70 T5, 112k sat 5 years, still in mechanical coma (finally at the top of the pile )
2004 XC90 T6 AWD: 186k, 60 on transaxle ( traded in )
1998 POS70 N/A: DD/training aid, 236k but really about 240k, I think...ABS module( passed on to son who sold it)

Me it's the family farm truck. 1949 International KB100. Great Uncle Uncle bought it in 1950. Dad rebuilt the engine back in the 60s and we where using it well into the 90s.

Quite a lot of similarities between Volvo and Studebaker companies. Both started long ago and had some unique and powerful models. Reputation was solid value with some flair. Later had financial problems and tried mergers. Studebaker with Packard and Volvo first with Ford then others.

Come to think of it, International Harvester tractors and trucks had some of the same problems and history. I grew up on Farmall tractors.

Swapped my ETM with a junkyard unit off another 99 na. Much better throttle response but now it occasionally hunts a little at idle- tiny fluctuations between like 830-870 rpm. My ETS light returned last night driving it home and I pulled codes 1041 and 1081 (which I had both before)

Gonna pull it to clean and replace gasket as I swapped in the unit as a quick test. Abscate sent me a list of vac lines to check as well.

Today I went to look for the engine serial number on the '98 T5 to figure out what timing belt to order and found this illegible sticker.
