I did some very technical and highly skilled jobs on the old XC -

New rubber seal on the gas cap.
New rubber seal on the oil filler cap.
New round door card trims on the lock knobs.

Exhausting. Took 15 minutes!

I went to install a gas cap tether and found this issue - I think they maybe sent me the wrong one......

Whats the diameter? the gas cap may have been replaced previously with a generic aftermarket one?

The same cap is now listed for P80's and P2's. That strap on a P80 fits on a small hook on the OE hinge mechanism.

On the P2, when I replaced my fuel cap strap, I made a slot in the edge of the old cap to accept a small tie strap (zip tie). Then a tightened the tie strap on the cut off end of the new cap strap. Not factory, but it holds the cap from getting lost. Mine has been like this for years.

Bought a used HU-650 and god my radio working again! My god the difference this unit has over the faulty HU-650 I had, louder volume, more bass, less crackling. Jesus christ is it amazing.

A Volvo doing Volvo things last week taking rubbish to the coup (Scottish word for rubbish tip although they are now called local authority recycling centres).

I picked up a rear floor tray 18 months ago from a car that was being broken and stored it for occasions like this so I didn't even have to clean the car on my return home.

Up and out the door at 7:00am this morning and headed over to the MOT station that I've been going to for the last 38 years. I'm pleased to say that Kära has a 13 month ticket and a straight pass. The tester did point out a couple of items that although not an advisory this year will need addressed in the future which I will look into.
