Hit 70,000 miles today when I was out collecting more Volvo parts to keep the car on the road.
A nice bonus was to receive the parts in a reusable Volvo box which will be perfect for storing my spare Volvo parts
What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

Decided to do an oil and filter change and SRI reset. 12½ months and 3,727 miles since the oil was last changed at the time of having the turbo rebuilt.
Genuine Volvo oil was cheaper to buy online than the equivalent Castrol oil
Internal filler neck still looking nice and clean

Shocked Jay to see scratches on the engine cover—and is that corrosion I see?P80GLT wrote: ↑19 Dec 2024, 09:01 Decided to do an oil and filter change and SRI reset. 12½ months and 3,727 miles since the oil was last changed at the time of having the turbo rebuilt.

It looks possible there will be a transfer of Oklahoma Mercedes parts to New England. A long road trip would be required. Perhaps there will be a full report post in the future.volvolugnut wrote: ↑11 Dec 2024, 08:32If you know the parts you need, PM a list and I will try to check may part's condition when I visit my other yard. I think these will all interchange on W123 models diesels. I have 3 W123 diesels.850 LPT wrote: ↑10 Dec 2024, 16:45I will keep that in mind, thank you very much. That project is scheduled to start in the spring. One of the first things I need to rebuild is the entire throttle linkage system, which is worn out/ seized. If you have good parts for that I would like to talk to you at some point. But there will be a bunch more parts that I need for it.volvolugnut wrote: ↑10 Dec 2024, 14:28 If you need some small parts for the MB 300D, let me know. I have a couple parts cars.

Or just wait until you get to the project. My cars aren't going anywhere.
Edited to correct W124 to W123.

Thanks for your kind words, I'm sure your kids will take great care of the S60...
Scratches are from previous mecomics working on the car. Not corrosion just a little metal degradation due to living in a damp wet and salty road environment, it's not as if it's ever going to erode the metal and cause any damage so I'm not that bothered.
The 850 engine was worse than that and I spent a bit of time with a brass wire brush to remove the top surface but the outcome was not as good as I wanted. The overall look of the V70 engine bay is better than most I've seen, it's not a show car and it's never been cleaned, just a wipe over with a cloth

Much of my time during the job is spent hauling things up and down the stairs to the basement or in and out of the storage shed, or running back downstairs when I realize I need something else,or taking a break from standing out in the sun,or using flashlights or work lamps when it gets dark.

It’s easy to get skipped over in this chat thread.
Try ATP 205 if your PS system is seeping. If you are getting drips of fluid, it won’t help
