What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

When using this support, I try to position it just above the lifting rings on the engine. That way the engine is not pulling the bar front or rearwards. Did this recently on 2 cars, an XC60 and a P80 V70. No issues, and both were up on a hoist.

I used that for clutch replacement on my P2. Just get the feet in the rail and it won’t tip.

As for the subframe, are there any special markings or things I should do so it is aligned to how it was?

When I did subframe bushings I did have to get the subframe high enough to line the new cap screws up. I was doing one at a time though and not complete subframe removal. For complete reinstall I’d start all four finger tight before torquing them down per the torque turn procedure on the new cap screws.

The elk had an issue with not opening the fuel filler door release. Of course it had to happen at a gas station, as the gas tank was as good as dry...
Tried to find the emergency release handle behind the trunk interior side cover without success.
Flipped a coin in my mind and took the trip to the mechanic/ dealer, some 50 kilometers away. Missed an exit on the way (D'Oh!) to drive some neverending extra 4 kilometers.
Arrived at the mechanic with the board computer showing "- - km range"!

The mechanic took 5 seconds to disable the fuel filler door release engine.
While I was there, I mentioned the broken front left position light and parking light and that I planned to repair them on a sunny weekend.
Boy I'm glad that the dealer insisted to repair it right there...the air filter and some hoses have to be loosened to reach the left front lamp housing.
Did I mention they did all this for free and even served me a coffee?

Got a definite vacuum leak on the 2.4 NA. Any common places to look? I see one what seems to be 3/8 hose off the intake manifold that looks crumby.

I think the P2s have that same hose under the intake manifold to the purge line that gets crumbly, check that.

Also the brake vacuum switch can leak and cause issues too.

I believe I've also identified one, it's not from brake hose, or any vacuum hose. What is left is either intake manifold gasket, PTC heater or something like the PCV itself.

I measured the width between the fenders to be around 160cm, somehow there's no support bar at least that long in my country for a reasonable price. All of them are like 148cm at best, too short.
