Did some body work today. Luckily I have a new friend who works at one of the top body shops in the country so he helped me cut out the donor metal (from abscate's black parts wagon) and get it tacked on and left me to do the rest. Haven't welded since high school so that was fun!

Second to last photo is with one coat of primer and the last photo is what it looked like before.

Nice work! That was really nasty looking before.

Replaced the oil pan on my brother's E34 today. Hell of a job, but it wasn't the worst thing. We got lucky and found one at the junkyard finally, so it was nice to finally finish this job! It's been on jack stands in the garage for about a week. Took it for its first drive and it runs great! Needs a couple small things, but nothing major.

Anyone know what the ID is for the vac line between the lower of the two inlet mani ports and the one way valve (horribly vague I know)? I've just noticed it's rather deteriorated and I'm fresh out of tube. I also know that the second I take it off it will disintegrate and I need the car running for the next few days.

Can I just use worm clamps to secure or do I need the oetiker clamps? Bonus question, are all the vac lines the same ID?

If it's the fatter one, I believe that's 7mm. The smaller one should be 5mm.

If 5 or 7 mm, they are too small for successful use of work gear clamp.
You are correct - Murphy will mess you up if you disturb the existing hose without spares.
