You can’t buy that here, it’s considered a dangerous weapon. I’m glad we are in a country that doesn’t let people buy weapons they don’t need.LOB wrote: 23 Jun 2021, 23:56 Don't know if this type of crow bar is widely available in the US but it's cheap and works great for this belt tensioner;

But seriously, there's a lot of tools that are more or less specific to Europe or the US. The swedish style adjustable spanner for instans. And, this crow bar is really perfect to loosen the serpentine belt, cheap and take no space lying in the trunk.

I happen to have a pry bar like that, but I'd like to see a pic of a Swedish style spanner.

But yes, they're widely available here. These pry bars are very basic, useful tools that everyone should have.
This Swedish spanner? Harbor Freight recently starting carrying it. https://www.harborfreight.com/swedish-p ... ipe+wrench

Other than the calibrations, I don't see much of a difference between that one and the drawer of adjustable wrenches I have.
That is a weird pipe wrench. I can't see being able to put much force on that rod part of the handle, which is what your usually doing with a pipe wrench.bmdubya1198 wrote: 25 Jun 2021, 09:47I'm almost surprised it's not considered a dangerous weapon hereLOB wrote: 24 Jun 2021, 23:37 Abscate gotta be Larry David, Ricky Gervais, G. This one was given to me as a Christmas present over 55 years ago. Its been used from my childhood working on bicycles to my senior years working on Sveedy. Odd one so it never leaves the shop.

The Swedish pipe wrench looks very intriguing, but every time I use this tool I marvel at quick and easy it is. Price is up to $18.99 now, but still well worth it.850oldschool wrote: 19 Jul 2020, 21:19 CTA 1071 tool is $17.62 from FCP:

It's a swedish invention, I think that was what he meant.
But, a Swedish pipe wrench I've never heard about
. Hf probably made that up.
