The S60 T5 is a fantastic car. I am just frustrated because the engines don't seem to be holding up. I sympathize with everyone that is having this problem. It's really sad that such a great piece of engineering has this kind of defect in one of the most (if not the most) critical component of these vehicles.IVIUSTANG wrote:Hope this goes well for you! Update: I have been in email contact with Tracy Herman, VCNA Aftermarket Manager. To my surprise, he emailed back in less than 15 minutes, promising to take a second look at my situation. He did ask for my non-Volvo service and maintenance receipts of which I have all and, other than for tires at Jack Williams, they are only for Valvoline for synth oil/fluid changes. I will be scanning and sending by Monday. I am encouraged that he is at least willing to talk and the he responded. There really has to be resolution for loyal Volvo customers who take care of their vehicles. For those that don't, well, you get what you deserve, but if you do, 119k for a carefully driven and properly maintained high-end vehicle should not have these issues and be much more reliable.
I'll report back what happens...
Stay tuned.

For others that google and find this page, I wouldn't contact him unless you are in central or eastern PA. Those are the only territories he covers. You would need to find your manager using something like LinkedIN. You should always used customer care first. If you don't get the resolution you want, yes it might be worth it to find your AMM and reach out directly. Keep calm and explain your situation. They are usually flexible and willing to take a second look at things. The higher the miles, older the car, or some neglect in maintenance makes it hard for them to provide Goodwill. That's why it's important to try and find a Volvo dealer you like (if you can) or have a good reason for why you didn't consider taking it to Volvo (again Goodwill only). If in warranty you can take it anywhere you want.bkw1962 wrote:Update: I have been in email contact with Tracy Herman, VCNA Aftermarket Manager. Always keep good service records of everything, including oil changes. I used to just throw them away. About 5 years I started keeping everything in a envelope in the glove box.
Glad to see he is willing to talk to you. Let us know how it goes.

It a good idea to place a review on the dealer in cause, there are Yelp and local.google.com which can help others when dealing with similar issues

^ public shaming... effective. Sad, but true. On the flipside of this, public praise works too.

that is good news for you...first time I ever heard of a car company doing that!...But your story really concerns me as I just purchased a 2016 S80 that has a similar (same?) engine (true?) So this is what I have to look forward to in 7-8 years??? Hopefully been corrected......can anyone shed some light on this?
As an aside, what was the problem with the engine? did they do a leakdown and compression tests?
Thanks in advance
