Time for a quick update.

Car is now officially legal and running!!

A/C had the Schraeder valve replaced (as per Eric's advice) with the OE part. Joke of it was the complex valve cost slightly less than a new 'O'' ring seal!! About $12 each.

My local repair shop called to tell me a slot had opened up on Thursday am if I could get the car there early. This was Wednesday morning, car had no rear brakes, and a bunch of other small jobs to get it ready. Spent a very long day on it and got it there for 7.30am. By lunch time it was ready with cold (37F) A/C. The repair garage owner is a friend and refused to take any payment for it. They are a marvelous bunch of guys there! I'll drop off a large case of beer next week for them. So far A/C is running well.

Took the car to the Volvo dealer today for a check over and alignment. They re-torqued the inner control arm bolts and axle nuts, checked the brake line for possible leaks, and then did an engine bay shampoo FOC. Again marvellous service and kindness from the parts and service staff! Letter to Volvo will be sent!

Car is running really nicely so far, no creaks or groans and the engine is pretty peppy for a non-turbo.
