Transmission flush question

This is good for me to hear. This post started with trans flushes and wound up talking about me running 20% Trans fluid in old cruddy engines to clean up and some with lifters collapsing. If this creates a problem for someone i believe your engine is so worn out it's being held to some tolerance with sludge. I have yet to change the trans filter (been in trunk for 3-4 months) as have been chasing ABS problems for over a year now. As i read this post my mail just arrived with another ABS module from Onterio Can. This is the second rebuild since car was new.
I did notice that there is no drain plug on the S 80. I don't ever recall any on an of my Auto Trans in the 50 some years of owning and maintaining vehicles of mine or others. Nice to hear some older Volvos have them. In my opinion all auto Tans. and Fuel tanks should have some way of draining them.

Great post. I would move it to the S80 section but by doing that I end up moving the entire thread. Would you mind posting this over there as well? I think it would be a great benefit for other S80 owners.

Just did a flush on my son's S60.... worked without a hitch! The color of the liquid changed dramatically!
We decided to do this after 50K miles (last time) because he's been pulling a trailer with his S60 for his lawn business.
Just a reminder- if you're doing something that requires your car to work harder than normal, it's a good idea to up the schedule a bit.
It's really cheap insurance when you think about it!
