Pretty good progress when we get two days above 5C in a row. We need two more to get the roof on

I have been doing clean up, throw out, recycle, and organizing of my workshop behind the house. For 20 years I added stuff there I thought I might need, want, or sell in this building and it became useless for doing more than minor carry in projects. Last spring I made room to get the Smart car inside, but I have since filled this space with other things.
Progress is slow, but there is progress. When I built this workshop in the 1980's, I left a 6 foot by 6 foot hole in the floor with intent to add a jib crane anchored in the floor. Now I want to fill this hole with concrete to increase the usable floor space. Since access is poor to this building and the concrete needed is less than 1 cubic yard, I will be mixing the concrete myself. The first step in this project was to get my 1977 Ford truck back in working order. The truck in now road worthy again and can haul rocks, sand and other materials.

It so happened that I had more free time last year. Several lockdowns in a row led me to work remotely from home. I needed something to distract me from my daily routine. My hobby is the renovation and restoration of the old Yamaha. It could be done quickly but I have nowhere to rush) Instructions for DIY can be found on YouTube. From time to time the need to find vintage parts tells me to take me there. Everything comes with home delivery. To be honest, this is my longest period of maximum stay at home. I want to try the result of my efforts closer to spring))

In some aspects the other operating systems are still playing catch up. A lot of things that make the New ARM based Macs so blazing fast where first use in the Amiga.

Before the snow and predicted extreme cold, I placed insulating boxes over outside water faucets. I normally do not bother to do this, but the forecast was for negative F temperatures. I used small cardboard boxes stuffed with bubble wrap and waded newspaper. I covered with a trash bag to waterproof and tied it all to the faucet with a wire poked through to the front of the box. I will not know if this worked until everything gets above freezing next week.

Nope, my water supply is all or nothing with shutoff valve at the street. But I have a shutoff tool for the street valve.

Google " hose bib cover ". I see them used around here quite a bit on older homes. Only cost a couple of $$. You can also have frost free bibs installed in some cases. That's what I have in my house. But probably not able to retro fit them in most cases.
Try to learn life's bad lessons vicariously through others.
