Yes. But glove test shows a slight bit of pressure, so I feel like I should do the PCV while finding the leak.

It sat for 6 months and didn’t leak a drop, then I warm it up, let it idle a long time, and take it on the freeway full blast. Something changed due to that - dry seal, too much crankcase pressure, cracked hose.....

So a few weeks ago I finished overhauling my AC system with a new compressor, dryer and a million seals. When I originally went to get it charged the machine would stall at about 0.25 lbs. Today J went back and they used an older machine that had zero problems charging the low port only. Turns out the newer fancier machine really dislikes not having a high side port. My AC has never been so cold. Its fantastic.

Great news on the A/C. Funny how old equipment is becoming more important to owning these old cars.

Took the 'R' to the dealer today to drop it off. Has only done a couple of very short runs since moving to new home in early January. When I uncovered it in the spring it had no coolant in the header tank and evidence it had blown it out through the cap. Worried about the drive to the dealer with a lot of traffic and traffic lights. Car ran fine and no over-heating issues. They will check it over and if nothing serious they will also flush the trans for me. Sucks not having access to a garage to work on the car. Maybe in a couple of months if all goes well!

Well, The PCV has "flow" if there is a lack of adequate vacuum, oil will go where it can, if the air rushing past from the cooling fan made enough pressure differential, it could theoretically siphon vapor from a split hose or loose fitting. more likely a bad hose just spewing. Possibly the oil cooler or lines for it, or even the oil thermostat, depending on where the airflow through the engine compartment takes things. I would start at the cooler fittings at the radiator, because airflow, and work backwards from there. I would expect air to eddy up under the intake manifold, so that is where it ends up?

And as far as the oil pressure switch, the normal mode of failure on those is not at the threads, but between the body and the core.
Current Volvos:
1998 V70 T5, 112k sat 5 years, still in mechanical coma (finally at the top of the pile )
2004 XC90 T6 AWD: 186k, 60 on transaxle ( traded in )
1998 POS70 N/A: DD/training aid, 236k but really about 240k, I think...ABS module( passed on to son who sold it)

Yup, the washer usually leaks. Mine is leaking, and the switch on my old V70 was leaking even worse than my current one.

I would like to be taking road trips, but your photo trips are an acceptable substitute. Thanks.
