One of several new Trichocereus cacti I just got in the mail from my cousin in Tucson... it's a creeping hobby. They're visually appealing, they're like the Leica of plants to me. They have strong psychedelic properties, but only if you eat them  . In case of emergency, break plant.

In Facebook groups (I'm a member of one) you can buy "cuts" which can sit for months without harm if kept dry/cool. You can make them root, then wait for "pups" to sprout at the other blunt end... not aesthetic initially, but the pups grow quickly and become full plants.

Or you can consume these cuts and... enjoy? I've never tried it.

Nobody talks about this second option in the FB groups, and after owning my three and reading hundreds of FB group posts for several months my cousin asked me if I knew they were psychoactive. I had no idea.

Trichocereus ("trichs" or "San Pedro") grow all the way up to softball width or greater. The tallest measured was 12.2 metres (40 ft) tall(!). Some have awesome, long brutal spines and some have none at all. There are dozens of natural sub-variants, and those have been crossed for decades to produce hundreds or thousands of hybrid variants.

I've got six now, the tallest is around 14-16 inches. I love them too much to eat them.

It's the same building from different angles: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westminster_Castle

I was nearby for a July 4 circa 1979... it's near my grandparents' old neighborhood.
