Christmas present to me. New aftermarket headlights with E code lenses from IPD. I always thought these lense clips would be difficult to remove without gouging the plastic or lense. Turns out its quite easy to pry with a screwdriver as shown and no glue holding the lenses on. What a great design. These headlights came with bulbs pre-installed but I did not know that at the time and now have a spare set. Hope to see some good results tonight.

So my new headlights seem to have an adjustment issue. When adjusting height in front of a garage door, the right headlight seems to max its adjustment out to a few inches lower than the left side. Does anyone know how high the beam should be at a given distance?

Did a late night transmission drain and fill (brown not black fluid :) ), and attempted to fix my locking issue. On my 98, when i use the key fob, the lights will not flash when locked. I verified everything is in a high state via VOLFCR and now i just have to find my key fob which i had the day before and test it. It gives a nice bit of peace of mind when i can see lights flash as oppose to listen for the lock actuation.

The fluid was brown and silvery when I purchased a 98 S70 T5 with 230K or so miles in 2012. Did a complete flush and it ran great. The following year it felt just a wee bit sluggish so replaced it once again and it was back to excellent.

I can't remember if the fluid came out the hose with the O-Ring on top or the hose with the O-Ring on the bottom of the radiator in my 98?

I thought those were glass rather than plastic lenses? Our old 98 S70 T5 were glass so I just replace both. The reflector material powdered so I tried some reflective paint which was not that great.

Try some LED's. The interior of those run hot so the reflective material eventually takes a beating and being in TX I'm sure it's even hotter.

Flow out of the top hose , away from the transmission.

I did a 500 mile swing to central NY and blew Number 3 ignition coil one mile from home.

Love your car and it will love you back. 110k on Bosch new coils

Update. Looks like I dropped a valve on number 3, no compression, 30 psi

I bet she will give you another 100k if you keep treating her right.
So far, 4 more years and 80k

These are my new headlight at max height adjustment. At 10ft away there is literally a 1 foot difference in adjustment. I think my passenger headlight may be broken or defective.
