I finally tackled this one from underneath when replacing the inlet turbo cooling hose. The original line had permanently bonded itself to the metal nipple. After sliding the green spring clamp back, I used a wood chisel to shave off a section of the lower hose. This revealed the nipple to be nearly an inch (20mm) long! No wonder I wasn't able to just pull it off.

I continued with shaving, then wedged off the remainder with a screwdriver.

So did you put a clamp on the new hose?

I did. New hose = 100% silicone.
