Another one for the bastards - the rear ABS sensors come as a harness with both sensors on wires and single connector - as of JAN2018 it is a $175 part. Be careful with those sensors
Score another one for the bastards - the OEM integrated right/left rear harness 9472171 is a

Serpentine belt changes from tensioner torx bit to 14mm hex bolt
New serpentine belt routing, freewheeling alternator pulley prevents using AC belt bypass
New front ABS sensors, integral wire with connector on shock towers..allows checking resistance ( nominal 1000 ohms) from up top

When did the tensioner change happen? Is this the torx bit one you're referring to? https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... 31251250oe
I've never seen that before. My cousin's '99 has a 14mm hex on the tensioner, and my '98 has a totally different tensioner. Strange...

If you look at the reviews at least one person had a 14mm hex head on their car, and the replacement part was Torx.
I believe -1998 was Torx but not positive
My 1999 and wcm 1999 are both OEM original and are 14mm hex on the serpentine belt tensioner

My 98 had a 1/2" square hole in the tensioner to adjust and a couple of small holes you could use to pin it in the compressed state.
My 00 cars both have T55? Torx which I have a set of stubby Torx bits for and a flat bar with the 3/8" square on the end for the socket.
Is the $175 for the rear ABS sensors for the ATE version? From FCP Euro website, the Volvo one is $172 but the ATE is $33!

I guess that is just the updated part.
-1998 uses a 3/4" square hole. I've found a 1/2" drive to 3/4" drive adapter and a 19mm open end wrench work quite well to release the tensioner.

The bastards use fuel pump 9480152, which is a 1998 1999 2000 only fuel pump part , according to FCP

I just found out that the 1999-2000 s70 uses a 120 amp alternator while the 1998 and earlier used a 100 amp unit.
And that ends my plan of harvesting the alternator out of my donor 1998 car... oh well.

Current Volvos:
1998 V70 T5, 112k sat 5 years, still in mechanical coma (finally at the top of the pile )
2004 XC90 T6 AWD: 186k, 60 on transaxle ( traded in )
1998 POS70 N/A: DD/training aid, 236k but really about 240k, I think...ABS module( passed on to son who sold it)
