I already mentioned in previous posts that you need to read the post by stephansvolvo.
Bosch 69693 works, but you need to remove the black casing.

There isn't much documentation but according to this post, Bosch 69693 fits "like a glove" viewtopic.php?t=60613

dosbricks did you pull the outer casing?

That "submersible" hose is exactly the same as normal fuel hose.Just make sure that it have the same inner diameter and that is for fuel flow.

I believe that the Hella pump is also the same as the Walbro pump for this car. The only complaint I've heard is that it's slightly louder than the original Bosch pump.

OK, I didn't read it, but the pump pictured on the right in stephensvolvo's photo is not like my S70 OE pump which is a Walbro. Mine has the fuel pickup in the center and it protrudes down about 3/4" from the pump bottom. That made me think that if I removed the outer plastic case the pickup would be at the wrong height and not have the proper size connector to fit the Bosch screen onto.

What I have modified on the plastic shock assembly to make it work will no doubt cause the pump to do the job. But the question is will it vibrate too much.

Apparently I am a chump x2 for not doing all the research. But it you knew the outer case had to be removed, it would have been nice if you would have just mentioned that.

Well, if your 1998 S70 is an AWD model instead of the FWD model, then the AWD model uses Walbro.
The FWD models use Bosch.

You did not specify exactly the transmission type in your post.

Original Equipment and OEM fuel pump for these cars is Bosch,NOT Walbro!

You did not specify exactly the transmission type in your post.

It's an automatic and it's not AWD, and it had a Walbro pump and it's original because we have had the car since new. This is the non-return system and maybe Volvo made some changes in the fuel pump area also. Or there is the remotest possibility that it was changed when my niece borrowed this car for a while when she was without transportation, but she never mentioned changing the fuel pump.

I have the pump mostly installed already in its assembly, but if I have time I'll pull it out and take the photo. One thing I guarantee, if I had taken the plastic cover off the Bosch and installed it in my existing assembly, the fuel pickup would have been positioned about 1/2" in. too high in the tank causing the car to run out of fuel prematurely.
