Just priced it, about $40 shipped. Not too bad. Will definitely check this out and report back with the results. So many little spots on our car where it seems like rust is just waiting to rear its ugly head.

For the clearcoat use the two component stuff with an activator in the bottom of the can only. It may quite easily end up having the texture of an orange but can be carefully wet-sanded smooth using grit 1000-2000 after a couple of weeks, then waxed/buffed.

Yes, best way to do it. I used the 2 part urethane in a spray gun and after a wet sand and polish, it came out great. My car desperately needs a good polish still, but it's no worse than the rest of the car, hahaha.

I bought this- it has clear and the paint code mixed in together. I had to contact the guy with the Volvo paint code and tell him which car it was for exactly and then he sent me a link to the one that I'm linking to here. I figure it's on the roof and I'm going to fill in the rusted place anyway after a good sanding and rust conversion and sanding again! Very specific instructions on how to do it and what not to do. Hey, I''m not going to spend a lot of time or money on this- it's on the roof after all! Get the smell out, get it done on the roof and off it'll go!

Working on the S70 today. The knock-off antenna mast is already broken. The plastic piece connection to the skinny part of the antenna mast came apart and I lost the little piece on the road I guess...it wasn't even on the car a couple of weeks. Anyway, FCP is sending me a new one.
I also started the roof and bumper repairs. The bumper re-painting was a breeze and it looks good. This was a good thing for checking if the paint is a true match...it looks like it. I've sanded the roof and used the rust restorer- 2 coats...waiting for it to really set in, then next comes the bondo and sanding and then shooting the roof with paint. After that, and after the antenna returns and is installed, I'd say I'm done with this car. Nothing else I want to spend time or money tightening up. The next owner can do that if they wish!

Have gotten busy...did grind out the rust on the roof and use rust converter on it...then rain started...will wait until the next warm day with lower humidity to use the bondo, sand and paint! Bumpers do look good though!!

Rust converted- bondo filled and sanded with #80 then wet sanded with #380, just washed the surface gently and waiting for everything to dry before I prime it with two coats wet sanded and then spray it with the car's paint!
More work than I thought!

I second that, theWIFES, I have a boot lid to take care of, though that involves a bit of welding.

Looking nice so far MIJ.

You are spurring me on to fix the front bumper on the V70 project. Next week...(I hope). If that works out well, then may look at tackling the flaking paint on the rear bumper and the badly scratched tailgate spoiler.

Neil.
