WD-40 is completely useless as a penetrant, it will not help at all. PBBlaster or Liquid Wrench sure, or homwbrew acetone + ATF etc.

Yeah. I’ve hammered that thing with PB and my impact that thing isn’t budging. I guess I’ll just have to deal. I have one last ditch effort.
I was thinking oil coolant fill drain refill the beautiful milky sludge of coolant and oil mix!!!’ Ole!

Thank you for your help. I need this car out of my garage so I can get another one back in. Geesh.

I crack the crank bolt off before Removing the timing belt, using a 1/2 inch impact rated at about 550 ft lbs

I’m not sure my little 1/2 inch has that much torque. I tried everything.
I remember reading that from your recommendations. Is it lefty loosey?

Are you using an impact socket? The thinner wall regular sockets don't transfer as much impact force. They even make a super thick wall socket for Honda crank bolts (won't fit Volvo crank nut though), which are very difficult to remove even with the strongest impact wrench.

Along those lines ... I don't know if it's in the budget but this cheap-o corded tool would outperform a typical home air tool setup costing much more and probably be the last impact you ever needed, assuming you don't have to get into tight places with the tool https://www.harborfreight.com/85-amp-co ... 64120.html

I've got one with less torque that has never met an axle nut or crank nut it couldn't spin off. I basically use my air gun until it gets overmatched then get out the electric one for those one or two stubborn fasteners.

these cheapo roadside impacts are surprisingly effective, they spin up to max rpm before impacting.
Its the first smack of the anvil that counts.
