More statistics on US states and COVID-19 growth rates. My raw information is from Worldometer. Any errors or misrepresentations are my own.

These tables show all available US states and territories and the COVID-19 data for the last 5 days. I have sorted the states alphabetically and added growth rates for last several days for all states with ranking of each day. Of course, this information changes daily. I have presented the table in two parts because of the screen shot, but it is actually one table in Excel.

Again, results change daily.

State growth rates for April 13, 2020. All information is based on reported information and actual results may be different.

For your information, the top 5 states or territories yesterday in growth rate (the worst containment) are: South Dakota (0.261) with 868 cases, Arkansas (0.220) with 1475 cases, Maine (0.187) with 698 cases, Iowa (0.141) with 1710 cases, and North Dakota (0.128) with 331 cases. If I heard correctly on NPR radio this morning, South Dakota has two counties with some type of social distancing order.

I have not included them in the sort of states, but I now have data for US Military at the bottom of table. There may be delays in reporting, but the data shows a growth rate of 0.38 for yesterday.

My calculated growth rate for USA is 0.0527 for yesterday, down from previous day of 0.0569. A growth rate of 0.0527 calculates to about two weeks to double number of cases. But US growth rate has been steadily dropping, so in two weeks we likely will not have doubled, but perhaps 1.5 times current case number.

Another news site says this test is 87% accuracy...,

The Grays spent $125 each to see if they had antibodies that would make them immune COVID-19.

Lab workers are able to get results from a blood sample within 10 minutes.

The lab acknowledges the test is only 87% accurate and not yet approved by the FDA. ARCpoint said it provides valuable information for folks concerned they have previously had the virus or for those contemplating whether to go back to the office.

...and the presence of antibodies does not mean immunity. We don’t know enough about this disease to say that.

I would file this under $125 better spent on Volvo parts

Not a scam in the sense of Theranos, but playing on people’s fears and desire to know.

Price point is perfect fit for sheep to be shorn. Enough to make a buck, not enough to get upset over. Same amount t you lose getting your pocket picked at the brothel, worthwhile, but too small for the police report.

For your information, the top 5 states or territories yesterday in growth rate (the worst containment) are: Iowa (0.190) with 1899 cases, South Dakota (0.183) with 988 cases, Delaware (0.114) with 1926 cases, West Virginia (0.114) with 694 cases, and Kentucky (0.099) with 2211 cases. There are now 49 states and territories with growth rate 0.10 or below and 29 states and territories with growth rate 0.05 or below. We are not out of trouble yet, but steps to slow the virus are working.

My calculated growth rate for USA is 0.0512 for yesterday, down from previous day of 0.0527. Steady, small steps of improvement.

I have included another table today for the top 10 growth rate states using the 5 Day Moving Average.

Much of Fauci's time outside of the White House briefing room is
focused on analyzing progress on blood tests that aim to tell who was
exposed to the coronavirus -- whether they knew they were sick or not
-- by spotting antibodies their immune system formed to fight back.
Those tests will be crucial in determining when and how people can go
back to work.

GM begins ventilator production to replenish U.S. stockpile

General Motors on Tuesday began mass production of critical care
ventilators that will be delivered to the federal government to
replenish depleted U.S. stockpiles in the fight against the
coronavirus.

Why it matters: The automaker has a $489.4 million contract to produce
30,000 ventilators by August under the Defense Production Act, which
President Trump invoked on March 27 in an effort to meet exploding
demand for the life-saving devices.

Details: GM and its partner, Ventec Life Systems, said they will ship
more than 600 ventilators this month, and almost 15,000 by the end of
June. All 30,000 will be delivered by the end of August, but GM said
it has the capacity to build more ventilators after August if needed.

Keep in mind this finding, and where these people live...most likely, where lots of exhaust fumes exist....poorer air quality (older buildings may not be well ventilated).

New analysis by researchers at New York University's Furman Center,
which studies housing, neighborhoods and urban policy, found that
strongest neighborhood factors linked to high COVID-19 rates were
having a large share of black and Hispanic residents; having a high
proportion of overcrowded apartments and having a large share of
residents without college degrees.
