Did a PCV test and figured my intake must have been bad for a while. When i first did the PCV refresh i had slight blowbay, now it nearly sucked the glove into the engine. Happy camper over here, and now some pressing interior and exterior finishes can take the spotlight.
PS Good to see you back Manovlo
What did you do to your Volvo today? Topic is solved

Drove the R today and realized I actually do miss driving it a bit! I adjusted the cable on my Snabb short shifter, and now that I have the lock nut properly tightened and the bolt just a hair looser (bolt was over tightened initially and the shifter was really tight), it feels great! I tried the shorter position, but it felt too clunky, so I went back to the initial position. I think this is about as good as this shifter can get. I just wish I could have the lever just a little closer. With my seat position, I feel like I have to stretch my arm so far out to get into 1st, 3rd, and 5th. And I already have it set so neutral is slightly closer to me. The fun problems of having long legs! lol

Realized a few days that the dashboard speaker grille was lose on the V70, the glue on the tabs didn't stand the heat

Started looking for my spare one in the garage
Can't find it but I stumble upon the brand new bumper grilles I had bought a while ago
Install said grilles on the car
Take a picture
Look at the picture
"wait is my intercooler crooked ???"

The unfindable speaker grille saved me from an embarassing moment on the road
Shoutout to the rust belter who can't get those loose, mine came lose by itself
Also got over 350 000km last week, time to use this sticker

Took the 'R' for another test run as well as take the old winter tires and rims to get the 11 year old cracked tires removed. Car seems to run ok even in 30C heat. Then came the rub. Went to open the rear RH door and nothing. Tried the LH rear door. Nothing. Bugger!!
I really hate those stupid thermal resistors. If we could only find where the heck to get those as we could then fix headlight wiper motors and door actuators rather than fish out $250 (Tasca US$) per door lock for the 2 stage rear locks. I have a used set I think in the garage. Trouble is the used ones are often no better. Work great at up to 25C and then stop above that so hard to test.
Love these old Volvos??...........At least the car keeps its name as shown below!!
Neil.

While waiting for the stars and planets to align on any one of my various daily-driver candidates, I decided to dig a couple things out of deep storage and get them ready for the day I can start on the Basket Duett .

These lock motors are the worst. At least my trunk always unlocks... that's the only one that does unless it's less than probably 70 F!scot850 wrote: ↑13 Jul 2021, 17:09 Took the 'R' for another test run as well as take the old winter tires and rims to get the 11 year old cracked tires removed. Drained and replaced M56 gear oil , 1 liter.
Horrible stuff, makes me naseous from smell
You can strain oil through a coffee filter and four days later, it won’t have finished.
