How will that be as strong as the original metal part? I'd feel more comfortable milling a crude yet effective one out of metal at a machine shop.

That's just a model, I believe. The final product will likely be made of aluminum/steel.

It's an input model that'll be the basis of the actual mount made from 1/4" steel plate. It doesn't fit EXACTLY, which is the reason I built it. I need to space out the lower bolt holes another 1/16" or so front to back.

I have to get another argon bottle for my MIG welder and I can build the service piece.

Possibly, might even be a set - who knows? Right now, I need a way to physically mount the engine in the chassis and this is it.

Excellent work and best of luck getting to the finished part. Maybe a new side-line job here? Wouldn't be the first to do so on MVS taking a hobby to a full time job!

This is the front mount from the 850's B5234T. As you can see, not only is the bolt pattern wrong, but the bolts themselves won't fit the old mount. Luckily, there's a solution.

I took some measurements for a new mount, built it in Rhino and output the file to the resin printer.

And voila. This is a quick-and-dirty template for the actual 1/4" welded steel engine mount, fully compatible with the stock cushion mount.

And it fits nicely, too.
Nicely done sir! Cant wait to see the final product.
Thanks! Always nice to know people like my work.

Thanks!

Of course, I've gotta test it first. This is a Rev 1, after all.

The stock P80 RN front engine mount does work (99-00 S/V/X70 (and I assume the 99-04 C70)) in this instance. If you can find one.

As someone who built and sold custom motor mounts (other applications) for 15 years, I applaud your work. If you're planning a weldment as a final piece, you can use your printed example as a basis to build your weld-jig.
