I had the same issue with a 123 GT I had. It only recorded 300 miles for a 400 mile trip. Couldn't understand whay I was overtaking everything on the highway!!

That car had the O/D manual trans removed and replaced with a regular 4 speed manual. They had optional drive gears for the output on the transmission speedo cable. I discovered eventually mine was the wrong one. I think they were color coded. The rear axle may also have been swapped on that car as it had been modified for rallying.

I listed this link for a Weber carb swap for a B18/20 and others for sale locally to me:

I’m going to stick w/ my HS6’s. So, when my car shows 70 on the speedo I’m really going 55. When I take the trans out to do the clutch, I’ll see what gear is in there. I’ll save that info for later as I’m going to put 15x7 or 16x7 rims on w/ a little wider tire. That will be a little while later. I want to get some of these repairs done and paint the car first. I did paint all the current wheels silver to make them look better. Not a full on sand and paint.. I just did a Craigslist job, clean and spray.. lost the receipts.. 😂

The only things I did all the way under the car were the rear ipd sway bar and put a gasket on the diff cover. I think I looked for the stamp for the ratio while I was in there. No clue about areas of redness.

I drove it over to my girlfriends house and he is running great. I re-timed the engine and tweaked the carbs a little. I’m feeling the full power band through higher revs. The new exhaust is adding a few extra HP’s as well. I finally took some pictures out in the sunlight.

Pretty amazing how well Leo's rattle-can job has held up through the years.
Now if VP would run one of their sales on weatherstripping ...

I’m going to take the doors apart before I paint, so that would be the time to catch a sale on weatherstripping. Lol Later this month I’ve got springs, U joints, center support bearing, clutch, pilot bearing, and speedo seals queued up. I’ll have a full trans seal kit and crank seal handy too. I’m real happy about the way he’s running, although I can’t achieve a low idle. He likes to idle around 1k right now. I probably have an air leak unless it’s related to the mystery performance cam.

Thank you for the photos. O'Leo has Art Deco feel to it -- colors are classic for that period!

Seats look really good! Chrome bumpers will transform that car.

The vintage volvo club organizer in Seattle had a nice green wagon, and he played with the deeper factory wheels, and I think 17" Dodge police car wheels with much lower profile so the gearing wasn't all off. Don't know if I still have pics.

Nope, pics are gone. But here's the guy:
"I found a set of the tried and true 17 X 7 Dodge Charger steel wheels and had them powder coated silver. They were blessed with a set of 215/50/17 rubber donuts." Then he put small chrome center caps on them to look a bit stock.
