I think user error in the cam. I tapped it off speith a hammer and wood block and my guess is I cocked it
A cam will be very hard metal amd somewhat brittle accordingly. Look at that grain structure, very cool.

Well got Grunhilde back on her feet tonight , after fighting the worst Turd of car repair I think I have ever dealt with.
Right side is done except for a CV boot
Left side LCA strut and knuckle all unbolted. Wait, LCA Nuts are off , one Bolt pushes out, the other one ... stuck
Turns out the metal bolt has bonded to the metal insert in the bushing. You can't impact it off because the rubber absorbs all the action.
I melted the rubber with a torch which left me with a bolt that spins but nothing to grab.
I tried all sort of pressure Tricks but ended up cutting it off with A wheel. Clearance was tough as we needed a 4.6 inch wheel to reach in to cut
This was a four hour ideal to remove one bolt , without nut

With a punch tool that heavy, try to use a bigger hammer - like 3 or 4 pound.

Punching was useless. The energy was absorbed by the rubber bonded to the metal bushing. I was just compressing the rubber slightly. Really frustrating.

Stuck on the passenger side driveshaft
Is this kind of outer CV the kind that just pops off a circlip ? No snap ring is visible on the shaft.

Reading this thread I can't help but remember what someone once said about many of histories questionable outcomes being traced back to -
" Well we've already come this far, so might as well keep going. "

I heard this years ago. Do not start vast projects with half vast ideas.
It appears you will someday have a working vehicle. And, you have kept many entertained.

IF you clean the grease off around the shaft you should find a hidden reverse 'C' clip. You have to hold the shaft in a strong bench vice, expand the clip and hit the knuckle up on off. Much easier with a helper unless you have 3 hands. Sometimes the clip gets stuck in the groove. You may have to work on it to get it to be able to move and rotate in the channel.
I use a brass drift under the knuckle to prevent damage.
Neil.

Always a farm-out job for me. Local independent can separate it and change boot in sub 20mins, costing me under £15 in labour. Not worth my effort or the mess for that little change.
