Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today....now sticky!!
The V70 R got an oil change to Redline full synthetic 5 W 30 and a new Volvo battery. Old battery was not holding charge after sitting a while. Date code was from January '06, so yeah, original battery. 13 years and 213 k miles.

Not so much what did we did TO our P2 today, but what BlackBetty the Volvo did for us.....
My son was in charge of his collegiate bike races this weekend. Hard to find volunteers, so he and I and Betty the Volvo spent all day Sat sweeping and cleaning the course (criterium, 1/2 mile laps), moving dozens of highway blockage signs, hay bales 6 at a time, about 100 cones and tape, and tools. Sun morning we were there at 6 to set up, block the roads, set the corner curves with cones and police tape, bring coffee and bagels to the officials, and get radios ready. The big Road Closed signs were about the size of the roof and conveniently the bolt heads fit the roof rails so we could slide them on and hold them through the sunroof. We putzed at wheelbarrow speed back and forth until we closed all the roads.
Fun races - rain let up, kids from all over the NW came, 10 stayed at our house. Some of these kids are so fast... 30 to 40 mph on the finishing straight, after sprinting for an hour!
Then Sun afternoon it all had to be knocked down and moved back to one spot. Who needs a pickup? (we could have used a pickup)
You should see the inside of this thing now....

Someday I'm going to upgrade to a modern smartphone: if for no other reason so I can catch pictures of other people taking pictures of my car. Happened again.. gas station attendant spotted my car and nonchalantly meandered outside to snap a couple pics as I put the car in gear and pulled away. Something about the combination of Barents Blue Metallic on a P2 sedan all polished up on a clear blue day really seems to draw em in.

Hurts my soul to see that load sitting on the roof without bars like that!
At least your bonus passengers don't seem to be wearing studded jeans, that'd really do it

Installed a Curt hitch on the S60 R, nice fit. Now the bike rack switches easily between there and the beater wagon ...

Picked it up from my mechanic. Bro and I did front lower control arms, ball joints, sway bar end links, front rotors and brake pads recently, but ran out of time. Mechanic did new front brake calipers, new front brake hoses and outer tie rod ends, as well as a complete brake fluid flush/bleed all the way around and tire rotation. Struts and ancillaries, i.e., mounts, etc., we're done by the prior owner about 12k miles ago.
I figure I'm good for another 120k miles, or until the next deer flings itself at me.
All to Ruby Red, the $500 wonder XC70.
