Interesting. I am running a do88 and hadn't noticed a problem with space. But it so happens that I'm planning on working on my fan shroud today, so I'll look into this.
Thanks

The space isn't an issue, unless you're trying to access something on the front of the engine, or what-have-you. The extra bit helps.

Since I had it apart, I figured I'd do it.

I just realized though, that the shroud I'm using is from an NA car (No additional openings with the flaps), so I'll need to get another shroud and swap it out.

I made a new wiring harness for the driving lights in my daughters 850 to replace the cheap components that came with the lights. One of the connectors inside one light had shorted and melted and caused the fuse to blow. Also installed a brand new Interstate battery.
This is all in preparation for her upcoming road trip to PA and then her final semester in Boston where she needs the car for commuting.

This morning I had a fun commute to work with a beautiful sunrise and an odometer "milestone" moment.

Had to change my positive battery cable. Car seemed to be cranking over slower since it got cooler, which is normal. But got to -20, and no start. Boosted it, checked charge voltage, 13.4V at battery, but 14.2v at starter solenoid. Had a 0.8v drop across positive battery cable with engine running, and cable was warm where it connects to lead battery clamp. Used a generic cable for now, charged battery, all seems well now. Old cable had no signs of corrosion, but I bet where the battery clamp is crimped to the wire is corroded under the cover.

I'm experiencing corrosion at the wire ends of three negative battery cables that I have. I'd like to cut off the corroded ends and attach new terminals. Can anyone recommend good replacement terminals? Or can I clean and reuse the old ones? And should they be crimped, soldered, or both?

Maybe it's easier to buy new negative cables, but they seem to have sufficient length for repair.

Napa and west marine are the places I would check out. They can be clamp type. With old wire, I would actually stay with clamp type as the can be disassembled and cleaned of any wicking-type corrosion.

One down side is the nice “ top bolt” vertical tightening clamp is hard to find, you have to tighten on side with an open end 10mm or 11 mm

Much more important to follow the negative first loosen, last tighten protocol as you will touch frame on the side clamp

Hi Steve, when you press the two clock buttons you get to choose between four settings/ combinations for clock and temp display. You can change the clock to 12 hour to 24 hour format and temp in Fahrenheit or Celsius. This works for all P80. You have to press the buttons at the same time for a second or two and it's a little finicky, but you can cycle through the options that way.
