I was saved by a lizard. After doing some yard work this lizard ran pass me and was going to enter the garage because of the gaps at both ends from the uneven concrete. It stopped short of going in? I opened the garage door and it still didn't move. Upon moving closer I see the snake in the garage had gone under the gap and bit the lizard so it just froze there. I picked up a shovel then decided with the oval head if I miss it's going to be in the garage for sometime. Switched to a hoe and got it on my first try. The little lizard got away safely.

Stripped off the remainder of some old yellowed clear coat on the fuel rail cover, and took the buffering wheel to the spark plug cover bolts.

What product and cleaning method did you use to clean the fuel rail cover? Mine is a little gross and I was wondering why simple degreaser didn't clean it.

My spark plug cover ("cam cover"?) bolts are dirty and the ones on Geronimo are nearly unusable from dirt in their Torx hole. I'd like to soak them in cleaner to remove all their dirt and oil (from oil filler gasket leaks). Would Simple Green do the job?

Simple Green is pretty mild, but I’ve found that it works pretty well. My go-to degreaser is Oil Eater. You might need a stronger solvent to strip that though.

Keep in mind simple green is not good for aluminum but the Oil Eater is fine besides being USDA approved. I would try the Magic Eraser as it is cheap and the generic pads are even cheaper.

I'd just use some de-greaser for the bolts. Or brake clean. I just got carried away with the buffing.
The clear coat on the fuel rail cover was stubborn. I used a paint/ varnish stripper and let it sit for a couple of hours. That loosened it up enough for me to then clean it in the sink with dish soap.

Does Simple Green also use sodium hydroxide? I know that's an ingredient in Purple Power and a LOT of other degreasers, which is why I avoid it.
