I'm tempted to connect a long piece of hose, and run my vacuum gauge into the interior, so I can watch it while I drive, just because.

You are such a clown! :D

I installed the cap today.... They must have been stocked at the closest Amazon warehouse. I ordered 3/16" which is slightly smaller than 5mm, but it looks like they're undersize for 3/16". too. I guess to insure a tight fit. They seem to be fine. They're not so tight I had to fight with them. I put caps on the airbox side too, because why not? I have 25 of them now.
