Went to the junkyard with the intention of pulling a hood, 2 fenders, and front passenger door. Left with 2 seats and a gas cap. Attempted to pull an entire dash board but ran out of time. Apparently the car I wanted to look at for body panels got crushed the day before at 2 different yards. The day was not a total loss as I found an 850 wagon with powered passenger seat.

tested out my solar panel setup for camping! Works great! Had my 12v cooler run all day, and it still had enough capacity to charge the battery. Now need to organize the wiring and hook it up more permanently. Will post pics later :-)

New York State safety inspection passed with all monitors ready for first time in 5 years. I put 17,000 miles on her last year. With Mom moving back east, it will live out life as a local Car or I will sell to an enthusiast if Mom passes.

Saw a clean bright red over black '99-'00 V70 T5 at Harbor Freight today. If the owner sees this and wants to donate it, PM me. It deserves an M56 swap!

Pulled a vacuum on my brother's 2000 V70 air conditioner, got it down to 30 bar and after 40 mins it was at 29. (Good enough for me!) Readjusted his a/c clutch gap too. It was about .75 before being adjusted.

Car easily took in a can and a half of refrigerant and my brother had to shut the car off because it was too cold it there! Hahaha

We also sprayed down his receiver with some anti-rust spray paint. That thing looks like it's going to crumble into pieces... If I had to guess what he'll have to replace next, my bet would be on that. (That thing looks like a pain to replace!

It sure is. I had to pull the line off the back of the compressor, put the R/D in a vice and still couldn't get that big 'ol nut off there. Galvanic corrosion, great form of thread locker! order the hose when you order the accumulator.
Current Volvos:
1998 V70 T5, 112k sat 5 years, still in mechanical coma (finally at the top of the pile )

1998 POS70 N/A: DD/training aid, 236k but really about 240k, I think...ABS module( passed on to son who sold it)

ITs easy after you figure out $130 is a lot cheaper than 3 hours of fighting the fitting which you ruin anyway.

Cut the fitting off the receiver and you are home free.
