Not just a herd but one is in greater danger. In the mid 80's a couple guys from our friends group went on a hike. This was way out in the boonies so no parking like that of a State Park so just a single car. I believe it was a 66 4 door Plymouth Valiant with the slant 6 and push button gear selectors. When they returned the hood and fenders were gone . Spent sometime in my garage but ultimately got rid of it due to parts availability. No web those days of course.

Re the insurance company; I think you might get a little more than you might think, because the insurance companies want these " old " cars off the road. They see them as not being as safe as newer cars, and more importantly, they aren't easily connectable to the grid like new cars. Ultimately they want to know your driving habits, conditions, and where you mostly drive, so they can charge you accordingly. Our old Volvo's don't quite fit. Luckily.
So maybe $ 800 - 1000 ?

Thanks, both my Son and his classmates are okay. I haven't driven enough in icy conditions or snow to experience the unexpected slide. They said it was like being in a movie with no connection or control of the event.

Yep, Big Brother cars are the future. Hope to get a little more but that maybe it however.
