For the record, typical morning lows in summer here will be mid to upper 70'sF. So we get up early to start any outside work. I usually come inside before 11 AM.

Cut a 12x12 plastic replacement pane fir my shed, used DAP white stuff to bed it in. Broke the tube so made a mess of the caulking but got it in and sealed. Better next time

I picked up another tube and the little caulk tool to make nice beads. Have to scrape and do the rest of those windows

We repair/rebuild these type of windows on a regular basis, as well as making new replicas.
Use 1/8" glass for small window panes. Back in the day, the glass would be bedded in the frame with the same glazing putty, but now we use calk for that bit.
Glazing points hold the glass in place. DAP 33 Glazing putty in a can, and a glazing tool, and you're good to go. Roll the putty between your hands to make a rope of it and use the tool to make a perfect finished angle. Let the glazing putty dry for at least 10 days before painting.
Edit - prime the raw wood first.

Thanks! I made a mess of it because I broke the snout of the caulk at the base (dropping it) and thus had to hand apply the caulk with finger and putty knife. Worst case Ill remove and reapply. I like the sound of the putty rope approach

Our old Colonial windows are/were similar - classic double hung, still working. The water damage, freeze and thaw, had eaten away the wood window sill -- north exposure window particularly.

The interior trim and casing is close to complete -- very happy. The repair of drywall cracks took some three weeks to learn and execute - some were 18" along the joints.

Saturday was our first sub-85°F in a while. My BMW was due for tires so pulled the machine out of the corner and spooned on new ones. Reminds me why I don’t do car tires …these weren’t too bad.
