Yes that is the correct pin.

In the code, increase Samples to a higher value. See if the reliability goes up.

Here is the line you are looking for:
#define SAMPLES 30 /* number of samples per sequence, more is better (up to 100) */

Yes, it is a pain. I spend about 20 minutes trying to connect to the chip every time I need to flash something. You have the RESET circuit, right?

That a clue, enabling a connection is a PIA.

What microcontroler profile are you using in settings? Trying to eliminate as many variables as possible.

Reset: I got all the connection pins soldered on then the Reset pad lifted. Moved the Rest connection pin to the cap and resistor in common with the pad. When the pad lifted it exposed what looks like a through hole. These may not be just pads.

Reset - +5V Move to GND and back +5V to reset.
Hold - GND
CNVss - +5V

( Null modem connection )
TDX - Interface RDX.
RDX - Interface TDX

I was able to get a beading needle to pass through a pad. The black dots in the center of the pads are holes. You just need to clear out the conformal coating. I would give you the diameter but my digital calipers just bit the dust.

Sent the other half after a packet of beading needles. Going to see if I can clean out the hole with the beading needles and use them as no solder test posts.

The one you add to config file by hands, to reflect addresses of our flash.
