A couple months ago I removed the headliner and managed to take out the sunroof trim piece without breaking. I could feel that it might have wanted to break. But ill try to be gentle when reinstalling it.

Wow, that’s impressive. You may be the only one to ever remove that trim in one piece!

I was looking at things like that but couldn't tell if it was big enough to fit over the headliner, backing, and sheet metal around the sunroof. I didn't know if it would be able to form into the corners of the sunroof either.

It's very nice driving around with the windows down without having orange foam flying around and the headliner flapping in the wind. Which is nice because my AC only works at full fan speed and likes to conk out at low speed.

It will fit. It depends how thick the headliner backing is too, but fortunately this stuff is pretty flexible and has no problem going around the corners and forming to the edge.

Almost made the classic mistake of replacing bottom cylinder head before installing the thermostat housing. Its not completely non-recoverable but its a nasty job putting that on in place.

Cleaned parts, waiting for FCP to deliver the gaskets..

I'm glad you said something. I'm about to start reassembling my block abd removing that thermostat housing was terrible.

I have some posts about removing sunroof trim. I think it's possible to make a tool to get under the clips to guide them off the roof metal. See those posts and maybe you can create a tool. Then bring it to a junkyard and try to harvest a sunroof trim. I'll be trying to remove mine at some point...

In other news, I missed out on an 80% nice 1998 front driver's seat at a nearby junkyard. I had the yard send me pictures which revealed that all four doors had been removed, letting both nice front (heated) seats get drenched. Maybe I could get the seat back (which is all I need) and hope it's not moldy. Really, I should check car-part.com for each of the very many variations of front seat once every week or two so I don't miss another one.
