Yep. Surpassed all the Ferrari GTO sales and anything else.

These are a completely badass car. Essentially the grand prix car with an enclosed body and an elegant hardtop added. The same car as the Le Mans prototypes in the mid-50s where the rear lid lifted up as an airbrake, to take some load off the enormous drum brakes, because Jaguar had switched to discs.

Which is also the car, through no fault of it's own, that flew into the crowd at Le Mans in 1955 and killed 100 or so spectators, causing Mercedes to withdraw from racing entirely.
