This is for my 2007 XC70 but I thought I'd post it here instead of the specific model forum as it's more of a question that may have answers from many different Volvo owners...
I've watched one video where the fixture is put in an oven at 270 degrees for 7 minutes and he's able to separate the lens from the body. The fellow doing the video says most lens manufacturers use a butyl adhesive.
I tried that with no luck, not even close.
I guess I could try leaving it for longer but I'm wondering if maybe the Volvo lens are assembled using a different adhesive?
Has anyone had any luck, or success with this?
The reason I'd like to separate the two is to repair a hole in the one light fixture lens and do it by working from the inner side of the lens...
And the reason I have a hole is that when changing an indicator bulb, the smaller inner fresnel lens came loose inside the main lens, and out of frustration drilled a 1" hole with a multi-bit in the main lens so as to allow me to put the small lens back into place...
At the time I could see no way of separating the lens from the body but now hoping that maybe it has been done..?
Anyone try or accomplished separating a headlight lens from the headlight body?

Hopes it does work for you also. Having another set of hands is invaluable for certain. Do gently clean the interior with some mild soap and water careful not to remove the reflective coating. If you have some Ceramic coating use it on the inside. We used Avalon King Shield Armor on the entire car including exterior glass, plastic and any rubberized parts. We wish we knew this earlier so could have applied this to the interior of the lens assembly.
