I recently (past few months) bought my first Volvo since my 1970s and 80s 240 models. I see I have lots to learn.
I have an Autel AL309 OBD2 code reader that has come in handy in solving minor issues on other makes of mid-2000 cars.
I haven't dared to plug it into my 2007 XC70 for fear of damaging either the interface port or some of the modules.
My question: are older OBD2 scanners ok to use on Volvos and how good are they at reading and resetting fault codes?
Also, are the DICE units sold on Ali Express reliable or should I look elsewhere for one?
Questions about using a regular OBD2 scanner and purchasing DICE.

I can't speak for DICE but have found my iCarSoft 2.0 to be helpful in resetting service warnings, SRS airbag codes and other Volvo specific codes. $150 and less than one stop to the dealer.
