Hello, been working on a 2003 volvo v70 with 245k miles. 2.4L automatic transmission
Got a no crank no start out of no where. Traced it back to the starter solenoid pigtail connector. The connector had a loose connection and wiggled it's way off.
I cleaned it and tried to put it back in but it's a real PITA. I can't see or really get to the metal that needs connected to. When I try to get it plugged in, there is little room and usually ends up scraping the crap out of my arm against the plenum.
I can see the metal strip in a dental mirror but have no room to use it and get the pigtail on at same time.
How do the pros do it? Seems they only tell you how to take it off then your sol
Thanks for any advice, last thing holding me up from using my car again.

These cars don't have much "wiggle room' as I 've had experience with similar- the only thing I can say is to get the car up on ramps if you have them or jack it up & put it on stands or secure blocks. then you can get to the starter underneath- sometimes theres a plastic or rubber shield that's placed aroung the connections to the battery you have to wiggle that out of the way-
should just connect with a spade connector to the solenoid- but if the solenoid is burnt, then you will have to remove the starter anyway-

Gonna rule out the solenoid signal wire by snipping the old one off and putting a new pigtail on and seeing if it will go on easier/better.
If that doesnt work, then I'll test the solenoid itself.
Thanks for the reply and advice
