Rounded Cam Pulley Bolt

Post by Richiebuonanotte »

Trying to change my front seals and I rounded off the cam pulley bolt. I've tried everything from a smaller socket, smaller wrench, bolt extractor...nothing, too round. That bolt is really on there, possibly seized. Any tips on what I might try other than cutting it off and drilling it out? Also, anyone know the size of the cam pulley bolt? Having a hard time finding it or even finding one local (Brooklyn). Thanks!

Here are some rounded bolt ideas: viewtopic.php?t=60788

For sure hit it with loads of Liquid Wrench or similar before working on the bolt head itself.

Hello Brooklyn. Passing through on the LIRR

I often find bolt sizes by…

Putting VIN into Volvo parts web store
Getting part number
Feeding part number into skandix.de and looking at description.

Happy hunting!
