Need help from software programmer- someone who does HTML...

Okay,
I've found that on some other sites, they have a search window for FireFox (I assume most use that here...I do), that is very good and get results. I'm saying this because the search function here at MVS isn't all that great. If someone can figure out how the plug-in for a search of this site is made, and make one, we can all benefit. Thanks for alerting me (us) to this functionality, MIJ.

It looks as though the it's only a front end for search that already exists. So in this case it would ease the use of MVS search, but not improve it.

If your concern is the quality of results, let me point out that there are two ways to search:

Search MVS

That asks Google for a list of relevant pages on this website.

and

Forum Search

The forum search's biggest drawback is that it doesn't list pages on this site that are outside the forum, like https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/tstat.php for instance.

Thanks Matt! Sorry I didn't contact you directly. I have the VS plug-in and it's a huge help...I can search even when I'm not on their site. I suppose a plug-in for here would be helpful in that way as well. With lots of info now amassing, I'd personally like to have it. I guess if no one makes it, I'll try myself. Would it be okay to make it available for download if I get it going? In the meantime I will use the first option that you've posted. I guess I've always used the second one (with the search button) and not had that great a result from it.

I should have included this in the "what would you like to see on MVS" poll.

Oh well. I'm going to be pretty busy this month (March), but after that if I find some time I'll do one of these three proposed upgrades to the site.

Or two.

Thanks Matt! I'm very busy this month too...my school is in the process of closing...and in a few weeks I'll be in Japan until April 8. Maybe when I get back to the States in April, I can help!

Aren't there large tax penalties on cars over a certain weight/displacement, in Japan? Those penalties would certainly include Volvos like the 850/S70/V70 models, yes?

I think you are right about the tax penalties but really, I've never heard my friends speak of them. I'll take some pictures for sure.
