I've heard funny sounds from different areas. It is not a VAWL-VOE (sorry New Englanders). It is a VOLE-VOE.

Back when I almost talked my parents into a new 245 ('76-ish?) my mom always said VO-VO. Maybe she thought it was funny. Maybe she was just messing with me. They bought a Ford.
